HSE:
Emergency First Aid at Work – 1
day (HSE Approval No. 40/07) |
This
one day course covers dealing with
incidents, calling for help, treatment
of the unconscious casualty, CPR
techniques, dealing with bleeding,
contents of a first aid kit and
medical emergencies. Covering the
minimum emergency first aid requirements
as set out by the HSE for the latest
changes to legislation that were
implemented in October 2009.
An “Appointed Person” for
the workplace in first aid legislation
terms is someone who is responsible
for keeping the first aid kit stocked
and ensuring that an ambulance is
called if needed in an emergency
situation. This course will leave
candidates confident in dealing with
an emergency situation whilst awaiting
the ambulance, and give a basic understanding
of the impact of the Health and Safety
(First Aid) Regulations 1981 upon
the workplace.

First
Aid at Work (FAW) and Emergency First
Aid at Work (EFAW) Refresher – 3
hours |
Due
to the wealth of evidence on the
severity of ‘first aid skill
fade’, the HSE now recommend
that all first aiders attend a 3-hour
annual refresher training course.
This highly practical course ensures
that the critical skills needed for
effective first aid are maintained
and developed. |

FAW
Requalification – 2 day |
This
is a two-day course which updates
the skills of people who need to
renew their statutory First Aid
at Work certificate and whose existing
certificate is still valid. The
course content is a condensed,
though comprehensive version, of
the full three-day course. First
aiders whose certificates have
expired by more than 28 days must
attend a full three-day course.

EFAW/FAW
+ Forestry |
The
HSE and Forestry Commission recognise
that working in remote environments
with cutting tools can present significant
risks. Part of the process for managing
these risks is having suitably trained
staff and equipment in place to deal
with an accident effectively should
it happen. At Climbmedic we can provide
First Aid training that meets the
needs of lone workers, foresters
or people working at height. In addition
we can provide the medical equipment
needed to manage major bleeds, crush
injuries or suspension injuries.
All of our training team are Wilderness
EMT’s who have extensive
experience of managing casualties
in difficult and remote locations
through both industry and rescue
team involvement.
Our courses are EFAW+f and FAW+f
compliant.
Contact us to discuss your specific
work or environmental requirements,
and to learn of the range of services
we can help with from risk assessment
to procurement of specialist safety
equipment. |
